Abortion
Some issues are unambiguously, morally clear. One such issue is abortion. I have long held that ‘pro-choice’ = ‘bad choice.’ Simply put, abortion is murder. As President, I would actively support overturning Roe v. Wade.
As President, I would actively support overturning Roe v. Wade.
First and foremost, U.S. taxpayers should not be forced to fund over $305 million dollars each year for the extermination of the unborn, along with lobbying efforts that present a conflict of interest and related ethical concerns.
An especially troubling, but little-discussed aspect of the ongoing national debate is that abortion is a profitable business for its practitioners, who also benefit from your taxpayer dollars.
According to The Family Foundation, for the fiscal year July 1, 2005 - June 30, 2006, Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) recorded donations of $212.2 million, clinic revenue of $345.1 million, taxpayer funding of $305.3 million and a net profit of $55.8 million.
Think about these shocking statistics for a moment. Not only did the non-profit organization end with a profit of over $50 million, but you and fellow taxpayers have also been forced to give the nation's largest abortion provider over $305 million of your hard earned dollars in just the past year. In fact, taxpayer grants make up more than one-third of Planned Parenthood's income.
Even worse, Planned Parenthood spent nearly $50 million on lobbying efforts. That raises the question of whether taxpayer dollars are used to supplement lobbying to get even more taxpayer dollars, and to promote abortion through public policy.
It is not enough to do away with abortion. As we work to repair a national fabric left in tatters by this divisive and morally destructive issue, we cannot turn a blind eye to the often difficult choices and life circumstances faced by pregnant women who feel they have no alternatives to abortion. We must also encourage safer, smarter, healthier lifestyle choices.
As we work toward the day when Roe v. Wade is tossed into history’s dustbin, I would advocate taking action to minimize abortions and protect American taxpayers from having to fund such procedures.
First and foremost, U.S. taxpayers should not be forced to fund over $305 million dollars each year for the extermination of the unborn, along with lobbying efforts that present a conflict of interest and related ethical concerns. I would eliminate all federal funding to Planned Parenthood and other abortion-related organizations through Executive Order.
Yet, it is not enough to do away with abortion.
With that in mind, I would work to redirect taxpayer dollars toward preventative and abstinence education programs, including organizations that would promote adoption, counseling, supplementary housing, and other support services for those victims of sexual crimes.
Sanctity of Marriage
It is written:
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
Given the heated debate about the gay movement, I want to make it very clear that sin is a universal consequence of our alienation to God. Sexual deviancy is a consequence by which God is withdrawing from our society as indicated within Romans 1:24. The wickedness mentioned within 1 Corinthians 6:8-10 includes ALL forms of sexual immorality such as pornography, fornication, adultery, pedophilia, polygamy, bestiality, and, yes, homosexuality.
So, before one considers attacking the homosexual community, one must also realize that the list mentioned above includes heterosexuals as well. The bottom line is that sexual deviancy in all its forms will not be tolerated by God regardless of what some ‘forward-thinking’ churches are endorsing. The judgment seat of God will hold all accountable for their actions irrespective of the endorsements of the ACLU, liberal judges, and politicians alike. Those defending these lifestyles are the very persons that the Bible gives warning to as being the “Blind leaders of the Blind,” where both will end up in divine judgment[i].
In God’s eyes, there are no alternative lifestyles which are acceptable to Him. There are no alternative marriages other than that between a man and woman. If you have embraced a position that alternative lifestyles are an acceptable norm within our society, then you have unknowingly taken a position against God by compromising his word. Furthermore, you will be held accountable for this position when we all stand before God in judgment.
Isaiah 5:20
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
We live in an age in which homosexuality, pornography, and other forms of sexual deviancy are now embraced in the name of “Alternative Lifestyles” and tolerance. Furthermore, any moral objections to these lifestyles are jeered by the media and in some political circles as homophobia and non-mainstream bigotry, while heralding sexual promiscuity.
Case in point: What is wrong with this country when a homosexual adulterous affair by the former New Jersey Governor James McGreevy is cheered nationally in political and media circles as a “coming out of the closet” celebration?
God's teachings lead us to this bottom line: sexual deviancy in all its forms cannot be tolerated.
National policy that attempts to redefine sin as a societal norm can be rationalized as unobtrusive, politically correct, tolerant, not affecting you or your family, benign or even beneficial. Yet, the consequence is ultimately another level of wickedness that God defines as an abomination. Committing and condoning these acts of sexual deviancy while endorsing these lifestyles only further alienates God from this nation as He withdraws His hand of protection from our country.
God's teachings lead us to this bottom line: sexual deviancy in all its forms cannot be tolerated. That includes, but is not limited to, homosexual marriage. The only acceptable form of marriage is that between a man and a woman.
Rest assured, I am not homophobic – rather, I am sinophobic. Our nation should not be forced to accept sin as a cultural norm. As a man of faith, I believe in loving and caring for those trapped in sin, but refuse to honor sin with pride marches and rainbows under the guise of ‘diversity.’
